Consortis at the Public Consultation for the Local Urban Plan of Corfu
Consortis was honored to actively participate in the public consultation for the Local Urban Plan (LUP) of the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands, held on Tuesday, July 23, 2025, at the Regional Council Hall in the former Prefecture building of Corfu.
Organized by the Municipality of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands, in collaboration with the Technical Chamber of Greece and the General Secretariat for Spatial Planning & Urban Environment of the Ministry of Environment & Energy, the event aimed to present alternative spatial planning scenarios for the municipal units of Ereikoussa, Othonoi, Mathraki, Faiakes, Parelia, Palaiokastriton, Kerkyraion, and Achilleion. The consultation also encouraged active public and stakeholder engagement through open dialogue and the submission of feedback and proposals.
Consortis as Lead Consultant
As one of the lead consultants on the LUP project, Consortis—working in partnership with Diktio S.A. and Christos Christidis—presented a detailed analysis of the proposed planning scenarios. Through the use of maps and visual tools, the team highlighted the potential impact of each scenario on local development, land use, and environmental sustainability.
Representing Consortis were:
- George Tsakoumis, General Director and official spokesperson for the consortium of planning firms
- Alexandra Peitsi, Technical Director
- Anastasia Tasopoulou, Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly and planning consultant to Consortis
- Achi Mantouza, Head of Environmental Studies Department
Consortis’ participation in the consultation reflects its strong commitment to forward-thinking urban planning—grounded in principles of sustainable development, environmental protection, and active community involvement.

- Stefanos Poulimenos, Mayor of Central Corfu and the Diapontia Islands
- Thomas Vlassis, Deputy Mayor for Urban and Spatial Planning and Environment
- George Voulgaris, President of the Corfu chapter of the Technical Chamber of Greece
- Representatives from the General Secretariat for Spatial Planning, Diktio S.A., and municipal staff
The public consultation process remains open, allowing citizens and local stakeholders to submit additional feedback. Following the review and integration of this input, the finalized LUP will be submitted for approval to the competent authorities.
The project is funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility under the “Konstantinos Doxiadis” Program.
