The Consultation for the Urban Accessibility Plan (UAP) of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas

The Consultation for the Urban Accessibility Plan (UAP) of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, took place in the Municipal Council Meeting Room, at the Cultural Centre "Christos Tsakiris", in the presence of Deputy Mayors, Municipal Councillors, representatives of Local Bodies and Citizens.

The presentation of the Consultation was made by Mrs. Mina Palkopoulou – Consortis’ Architectural Design Dept and Mrs. Eftychia Koukourikou – Consortis’ Planning and Land Development Dept.  

The study was successfully completed by the contracting company "Consortis", in collaboration with the Municipality of Pavlos Mela for the area of its jurisdiction.

Current Situation Analysis

A total of 28.1 km of linear network in the three Municipal Units of the Municipality of Pavlos Melas - Stavroupoli, Polihni and Eukarpia - were examined. In addition, 102 public and community buildings, such as schools, welfare and health care, cultural and religious buildings, and sports facilities and 67 open air spaces, such as parks and squares were assessed for their accessibility.

Proposals

The strategic plan with the necessary space configurations, interventions and suggested special constructions to ensure accessibility for residents and visitors, was presented to the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, with particular emphasis and respect for vulnerable social groups.
