Green Point for the Municipality of Paionia

The Environment Department of Consortis, in collaboration with SARROPOULOS K. and TECHNOOMOIOSSTASI, undertook the design and technical support for the construction of the Green Point in the Municipality of Paionia. This pioneering project aims to create a modern facility that promotes recycling and material reuse, enhancing sustainability at the local, regional, and national levels.

The Problem

The need for efficient waste management and the promotion of the circular economy necessitated the establishment of a Green Point in the Municipality of Paionia. Its location within the boundaries of Natura 2000 protected areas required particular environmental sensitivity and specialized studies to ensure the project’s harmony with the natural environment.

The Solution

Consortis and its partners designed and implemented a comprehensive approach that included:

• Development of Technical Studies: Design and organization of the site with building infrastructure and equipment for the collection and processing of materials such as paper, plastics, metals, textiles, and electrical equipment
• Environmental Licensing: Compliance with Standard Environmental Commitments and preparation of a Special Ecological Assessment Study to protect the Natura 2000 area
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Coordination with the surveying, architectural, hydraulic, traffic, and structural engineering departments, along with utilization of landscaping and electromechanical studies from partner companies
